It’s inevitable that you’re going to have a bad day; life is about balance, and just as we experience and cherish the good days, we’re bound to have and must manage the bad days. We don’t plan for them – we don’t write in our daily planner, “Today will stink.” – but they will pop up.
In my experience, they just happen, and usually on a colossal level. Ever hear of the quote, “When it rains, it pours”? This usually fits my bad days – it’s not one thing that goes wrong, but everything seems haywire.
To cope with those days, I like to learn from others who’ve come before me. Hard-earned wisdom that gets passed from one to the next makes me feel better, as though we’re all in this together. And we are. You may feel lost, alone, or the butt of a cosmic joke, but it will be okay. Don’t just let me tell you that; here’s my favorite quote and some others to help you up when you’re down: It will all be okay in the end, because if it’s not okay, then it’s not the end.
- Always remember that your present situation is not your final destination. The best is yet to come.
- Sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives put us directly on the path to the best things that will ever happen to us.
- If you don’t like where you are, move. You are not a tree.
- You can’t start the next chapter if you keep rereading the last.
- If it doesn’t open, it’s not your door.
- Sometimes you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and where you want to be.
- Sometimes you need to talk to a three-year-old just so you can understand life again.
- Listen and silent are spelled with the same letters. Think about it.
- Sometimes, you have to stop thinking so much and just go where your heart takes you.
- You don’t have to have it all figured out to move forward.
- Never stop believing because miracles happen every day.
Use these nuggets of inspiration to stave off the lost feelings. Right now, before you drift to the next task, write these on your daily calendar planner, one per month, and you’ll have a year’s worth of uplifting words to sustain you.
It will happen; you’ll find yourself off track, feeling alone and lost. Just keep your Best Planner Ever nearby, turn to your quotes, and remember that you’re not alone!
